Luis de la Fuente is the founder of an independent consulting firm that helps school systems and non-profits achieve greater impact. In that capacity, he has helped a range of clients from foundations to university collaboratives to school systems on projects that include strategic planning, project management, facilitation, and executive leadership.
Prior to his independent work, Luis served as Managing Director of the Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, where he guided the strategic direction of the organization: seeking out and investing in high-potential leaders and organizations poised to transform the U.S. public education system. Luis joined the Broad Foundation from McKinsey & Company, where he developed and implemented business strategies for Fortune 500 companies.
Luis holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in developmental biology from UC San Francisco. He also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford University’s School of Medicine.
