Latia serves as the Partner of Communications and Strategic Initiatives for RootED Denver, a role that supports raising awareness on Denver’s education ecosystem while elevating the impact of community-based organizations and schools through storytelling, network building and strategic initiatives. Latia leads multi-faceted communications and engagement strategies to promote community-driven change—so every child in Denver has access to a high-quality education and ultimately the agency to define their own success.

Latia brings nearly 15 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and management to this role and has extensive experience as a community volunteer, community advocate, and board member. Most recently, she was a part of the senior leadership team at Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF)—leading the organization’s brand and engagement efforts. Before joining DSF, Latia worked for Denver Public Schools Foundation, Young Americans Center for Financial Education and Community Resource Center.

Latia also serves as founding board chair for Wildflower Montessori Public Schools of Colorado, a public charter network opening in Fall 2023, is a member of the Montessori on Wheels board of directors, and is a member of the external affairs committee for KIPP Colorado Public Schools.

Additionally, Latia is a Daniels Fund Scholar and graduate of Arizona State University with a degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management and minor in business administration.

Her favorite quote is from Maya Angelou, “We may encounter many defeats, but we must not be defeated.”
